The balsa wood tree, scientifically named Ochroma pyramidale, is the only core material that comes from a natural and renewable resource.  It is the fastest growing tree that grows from a tiny seedling to an adult tree in 3 to 5 years, at that time it can reach 30 mt. in hight and more than 30 cm. in diameter.

Due to the perfect conditions of humidity, sunlight and soil that are found in the rich Tropical Lowlands of Ecuador, balsa trees grow naturally and spontaneously in small groups.  It is a source that is continously and naturally renewed.

Our concern about the environment and sustainability commits us to work closely with the raw material suppliers to ensure the ecological harvesting of the green wood.
